The best way to avoid tarnish on your Sterling Silver Cuffs is to store them in a zip lock bag. I know this is not the most attractive way to display your bracelets, but keep it in mind if you are not wearing them everyday.
I would recommend that you wipe your Sterling Silver jewelry with a Silver cleaning cloth regularly to remove fingerprints and light tarnish. If your Sterling Silver jewelry has tarnished a lot, you can clean it with a Silver cleaning solution. However, NEVER clean with a Silver paste. When using the solution, only leave in for 10-15 seconds, agitating the whole time. After you remove the jewelry be sure to thoroughly rise under running water and pat dry to remove excess water. Some gemstones such as Turquoise, Lapis, Malachite, and other porous stones will be RUINED if dipped in any solution. So a Silver polish cloth is the best answer for any Bracelets with gemstones. 14 kt Gold may be cleaned safely in Silver cleaning solutions but silver may NOT be cleaned in solutions specifically formulated for Gold. It is always a good idea to remove your jewelry when applying makeup, lotions, hairspray, or perfume. And be sure to NEVER use a Silver cleaner designed for flatwear on your jewelry. |
